Why would I like to be like a child?
May be when we grow older we lose connectivity with our
imagination, we tend to limit it in a way we stop seeing things beyond certain
level; in other words fantasy
is escapism for adults but for kids it appears to be a pushing of boundaries in
an effort to see what else could happen. When we see a kid acknowledging each new experience with a
set of gentle oohs and aahs or that wide-eyed, pinpoint stare they’re capable
of when something interesting flits into their field of vision. Most of that
initial learning is through seeing and touching different textures, shapes and
objects we get fascinated. Being an adult we wonder and get interested or get attracted towards the kid’s expression - the way they acknowledge new experience – and we tend to find ourselves in fantasy: what it would like
to be a child!
We often miss an opportunity to keep our boundaries limitless and think that in process of growing up we lose our childhood! I would rather say we lose our tendency to think like a child not being like a child.
